Renaissance House is very proud of the artists who have come through its doors. Consider the hotel maid, mother of four, grandmother of 3 children at age 36 and caregiver to her mother. She hid herself in the bathroom during her lunch break to write poetry on her breaks at work and was later nominated for Poet of the Year in the state of Georgia. Consider the former factory worker whose work garnered a Kingsley Tufts Award worth $100,000 and a Phillis Wheatley Book Award, among others.
